GUERNSEY COUNTY COMMISSIONERS APPROVE 2023 BUDGET

Cambridge, Ohio – The Guernsey County Commissioners met and approved the county’s 2023 permanent appropriations plan.

The plan includes just over $17.3 million in appropriations for the general fund which is part of the overall figure of $107.8 million for all county agencies involved.

At this time, expenses in the general fund are expected to exceed revenue estimates $2.04 million . However, if actual revenue comes in higher than anticipated and departments continue careful spending practices, that figure could be reduced.

Joining the commissioners in the meeting were Fiscal and Budget Director Brenda Mourer, assistant Chrissy Smith and newly elected Auditor Cory Johnson, who will take office on March 1.
